Last week Huletts sent me a hamper of their delicious syrups and invited me to take part in their tongue-twister challenge. Brett and I had a lot of fun trying our hand at the various phrases - click here see how we did! If you'd like to have a crack at it, click here to do the Tongue-twister challenge too!  I used Huletts Golden syrup to make these easy and delicious Golden Syrup Puddings. The recipe is much like that of a cake, but the puddings are baked in a water bath and have a generous amount of golden syrup...

I'm sure you've heard about the Dalgona Coffee craze that took TikTok by storm earlier this year. Well, I'm here to tell you about the next internet food craze - pancake cereal! It's not hard to see why this genius idea is going viral on social media - I mean, eating mini little golden crunchy pancakes with a spoon, covered in your favourite topping? Yes please! Koeksisters are a well-known treat amongst South Africans, especially the sweet-toothed ones! For those who haven't had the pleasure of trying a Koeksister, they are delicious deep-fried twists of dough that are dunked in a thick syrup. They are similar to doughnuts, although most Koeksister recipes make use of baking powder and not yeast as a leavening agent. Traditionally Koeksisters are made with a lightly flavoured syrup, containing just a hint of lemon juice and cinnamon. And of course, loads of sugar. It's always risky making changes to a traditional recipe (especially one that's been around as long as this!), but...

This beautiful Fig and Frangelico cake is sure to turn some heads. The deep purple crown of fresh figs and generous cascade of sauce will entice the senses of your guests even before they know it's full of Frangelico! The cake is composed of three layers of hazelnut and fig sponge soaked in a boozy Frangelico sauce, then sandwiched together with a creamy mascarpone icing and decorated with fresh figs and more Frangelico sauce. It's a gorgeously grown-up and sophisticated dessert that's suited to a celebration. The whole cake can be made and assembled up to 2 days in advance, then simply...

Greek cuisine is one of my favourites. Whenever we eat at a Greek restaurant it's a given that Baklava will be the ending to my meal. I just love the crisp layers of pastry, crunchy nuts and sweet, honey syrup all rounded off with a touch of cinnamon - heaven! Baklava is very simple to make. However it does take a bit of time - that's just because each phyllo sheet needs to be buttered individually. But when you sink your teeth into a golden diamond of freshly made Baklava you'll be glad you went to the trouble to make your...
